Job Description
Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a leading supplier of forklift truck attachments, due to an internal promotion they are now looking to recruit a new Area Sales/Key Account Manager to cover and develop their client base across the South of England. With a strong package this is a great opportunity for either an experienced forklift sales professional or a sales professional from a related industry in capital equipment to develop their career in an account management focused position.
Responsibilities
- Managing an existing client base of forklift truck manufacturer’s & dealer’s across the South of England
- Grow this account base across the same region to develop the company’s presence there further in selling forklift attachments
- Generate new business by visiting customers on site, conducting site surveys and providing customer quotes for attachments
- Providing a consultative sales approach in order to win new business selling through the distribution channel of the material handling industry
- Take responsibility for region revenue stream and overall growth
Requirements
You will ideally have a background of selling into the forklift industry and therefore have an understanding of the distribution process. Candidates from either forklift attachments or batteries would therefore be of particular interest, as would candidates with a background in sweepers/cleaning equipment. Candidates directly from the forklift truck market are also of interest as long as they have the appreciation of the route to market and a strong technical understanding. As the role covers the South of England a candidate from anywhere across Greater London or the South East will be suitable in terms of location.
