Alexander James Recruiting is working with a leading provider of warehouse racking, storage & shelving seeking a new office based CAD Design Engineer to assist the sales & projects teams in creating racking designs for the company’s clients around the West Midlands. Responsibilities
- Using AutoCAD software to design and create technical drawings for racking and storage systems based on requirements supplied by the sales/projects team
- Supporting the sales/projects teams in quoting and winning contracts for the business
- Amending layout designs throughout the durations of the project to best suit the clients’ needs whilst complying with Health & Safety standards
- Taking in-bound customer enquiries and support clients over the phone as and when required
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure projects are delivered to the laid out time frames
- Assisting with other areas of the business as and when required
Requirements
The company are ideally looking for a candidate with experience of designing layouts using AutoCAD within Racking, Storage, Mezzanines or Partitioning. It would also be highly preferrable for the successful individual to hold a HNC in Engineering or another engineering/design focused qualification. It is essential for the requirements of the role that you are comfortable speaking to clients over the phone as this will be a key part of the role. In terms of location, you will need to be based in the West Midlands since the role will be office based.
