Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a well-established supplier of materials handling Equipment who are looking for a new head of used equipment & rental to manage their assets on a national scale. A Director’s level position carrying out the overall used equipment & rental strategy this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial individual from material handling or another background with strong asset management experience looking for a new and challenging opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing the overall used equipment and short term rental strategy across the UK
- Running a team of people within the used equipment & rental division
- Proactively managing the size of the used and short term rental forklift truck fleet to include managing assets
- Ensuring correct assets are acquired and the value well managed
- Supporting the Sales Director & MD in managing the forklift truck demo fleet
- Managing budgets and ensuring profitability within the used equipment department
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience of having worked in the material handling industry before having managed a team of reasonable size within an asset management, used/rental capacity. However, industry based experience is not essential and the company would consider individuals from another background, preferably with used equipment & rental experience who have a proven commercial ability. Individuals from plant hire, or access may fit, for example. You will also possess a good financial understanding and have the ability to organise teams effectively. In terms of locality, you can be based anywhere across the UK though the Midlands or immediate south West would be preferable.
