Job Description

Alexander James Recruiting is currently working with a fast growing dealer of material handling equipment looking to hire a new Sales Manager to manage a small sales team and develop their customer accounts in a sales capacity. With excellent, uncapped commission opportunities and scope for growth, this is a great opportunity for either an experienced forklift sales professional or a sales professional from a related industry in capital equipment to develop their career.

 Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach and develop a small sales team
  • Managing an existing client base across the West Midlands and developing this further
  • Business development across this region
  • Work heavily with the Managing Director to ensure company improvements are made and the business is being driven forward 
  • Providing a consultative sales approach in order to win new business in the hire and sale of other equipment to include pallet trucks, service contracts and cleaning equipment

Requirements

You will ideally have worked in a sales role within forklift trucks before, with a proven track record in the industry. You will be proactive in your approach to selling and will have a solid understanding of equipment hire. As an alternative to forklift sales experience, the company are willing to consider candidates from other industries within capital equipment as long as candidates have experience of providing a consultative sell and have experience of conducting site surveys. Candidates from sweepers and other cleaning equipment as well lifting equipment and other warehouse products would be suitable in this regard. In terms of location, the company are willing to consider candidates based anywhere across the West Midlands and surrounding areas. Previous management experience is preferable but not essential. Ultimately our client require a driven individual with proven sales ability who is able to drive their business forward and work well with existing accounts.
